The Negroni has received a considerable amount of fanfare recently and with good reason.
The cocktail is well-balanced and devoid of the "fluff" so many other trendy cocktails possess, i.e. simple syrup.
Instead, the Negroni focuses on a few core ingredients with outstanding pedigree and flavor. Everyone has an idea of what makes the perfect Negroni but here's my approach:
In a rocks glass add three cubes of ice. Over the top of the ice add a few dashes of Angostura Orange Bitters and set the glass aside.
Pour the mixture over the ice. And now for the secret play, add a splash of La Croix Grapefruit Soda. Drop in a twist of orange peel and relax.
Winter, spring, summer or fall the Negroni is a perennial favorite!
