Welcome to 1002am – a sensory collection of thoughts, ideas, experiences and objects that I find uniquely captivating.
Everything that we experience in life is enhanced through our five senses – taste, touch, sight, smell, and hearing. Together, they create our reality but what if we isolate our senses and explore our relationship with each one of them independently? How does our perception of the world change? Do we favor one sense more than the other?
In many ways, our happiness is derived from our response to sensory perceptions: a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience, a sound that provokes a smile, a beautiful vista, a comfy sweater, or the aroma of your favorite cologne. We innately enjoy the things that stimulate our senses and reject those that conflict with the receptors that we’ve hardwired to interpret “good”. If we’re lucky, the memory will be so powerful and so vivid that we can relive that moment by calling on an associated sense.
1002am is about exploring the world around me, identifying the little (or big) things in life that seduce my senses and in turn, sharing them with you.
